Recently I started doing my whole filing thing again. It's a simple project. Not very many steps. Not too many complications or twists in the system, although some people seem to think that my whole method needs fine tuning. Honestly, you file one little old lady under P when her name starts with something completely irrelevant and suddenly everyone's a critic. Little old ladies aren't even the Jabba the Hutt of the filing process. It's when you start considering filing yourself that things start getting a little Star Wars Christmas Specialy and take a turn for the rightfully weird.

For instance, do I file myself under D for dead or for part-demon? And for that matter, would I just skip the D and create a file under V for visions? Because I feel like getting an information overload from The Powers That Be for so long has to count for something, right? And if I'm not getting at least a statue to commemorate my contributions to society, then a file is the least that can be done. With that line of thinking, I could always file myself under P because I was a princess once. And there's always C for coma, but that's just an unpleasant reminder all around. At the same time, most of the files that we had on people back in LA when we were trying to help the helpless and save that big, ol' world were more than a little unpleasant, but even when you can't seem to stop talking about all the things that you've skirted around since you got here, there are apparently still some things that you can keep to yourself when and where they matter.

But not everything.

So. Just to top things off. I'm in love with Angel. I have been for a while! No one needs to jump out of the corner and yell surprise or remind me just how awkward this might potentially be, but I do think I've finally got a single letter to put myself under with this little addition, and you'll be surprised to know that it doesn't actually encompass the entire alphabet.

It's A, for Antarctica, since that's where I'm going to relocate after I can figure out how to get all of this off of here.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Or so they say. That's funny when you think about it. Nine times out of ten it really does ring true in every context. At least that's one good thing the French did for modern society.

In less obscure though slightly less interesting news! This apartment is almost put together, and for someone with my kind of a salary, that's saying something. It might not be as spacious as the one that I had back in LA and is completely lacking in ghosty roommates, but it works for the most part. Considering that I managed to make this place not look like a dump and did it with the help of a kid I saved, thank you very much, from managing a sleazy bar, I'm counting that as one for Cordelia and treating myself to something situation-appropriate, especially given the state of things.

You probably can't buy ghosts, can you?

But you know what you can buy? Clothes.

Well.

Crap.

This isn't exactly what I'd planned on, and I seriously doubt this is what The Powers planned on either.

I gotta say, this isn't really what I had in mind as far as after lives go. And I don't mean the metaphorical, stained glass window Heaven or Hell sort of thing as much as I mean, you know, the life that you have after. After the after. For one thing, in my mind, there was more Berber carpeting and goose down.

But, hey, if you're throwing that wacky, mystical alternate dimension thing at a girl like me? I have to say: barking up the wrong tree. This one is actually a lot nicer than, well, quite a few, really. I mean, this place actually has coffee. Beat that!

[ deliberate pause as she clears her throat ]

And coffee is great and all but I have things to do, and I'll need to be getting back in order to do to them. So if someone could point me to the nearest exit sign and skip on the guide portion that usually follows a crash landing in whatever realm this is, I'd appreciate it.

[ooc: sorry if I'm slow to reply, my internet is being ridic. ]
